A Federated Data Platform to Drive Adoption of Advancing Technologies in Healthcare

Collaborative Innovation for Genomic Advancements In the ever-evolving field of healthcare, innovation thrives through collaboration. At the Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance (MGHA), we envision a federated data platform that fosters data and knowledge sharing, paving the way for adopting cutting-edge genomic technologies in healthcare.

Harnessing Diverse Strengths

The members of MGHA bring diverse strengths in managing and interpreting clinical data, which can significantly accelerate the integration of modern genomic approaches in clinical settings. By leveraging reference data, gold-standard datasets, and sharing clinical insights derived from emerging sequencing technologies and advanced bioinformatics techniques, our federated platform aims to drive the adoption of these innovations.

Building a Collaborative Environment

Our platform provides an environment for sharing data, enabling the Alliance to collaboratively establish the rules and standards around datasets. This initiative aims to build consensus and facilitate seamless integration across systems. By creating a shared space for collaboration, we can develop cohorts, tools and workflows collectively and expand the platform for sharing and annotating data among Alliance members.

Partnership and Open Collaboration

To explore the viability of this project, we plan to form partnerships between data custodians and stewards from each organization within MGHA. Our goal is to establish a searchable data catalog that facilitates open collaboration and effective data management. Importantly, full control over data sharing will remain with the designated data owners (data administrators) for each dataset.
